This month we feature a popular patio rose which is widely grown throughout New Zealand. Sweet Dream was released in the mid 1990’s and since then has become a popular rose, not only because of the name but also the colour which is an appealing peachy apricot shade.
The blooms on Sweet Dream open quartered reminiscent of the old world roses and come in clusters all over the bushy plant that reaches 60cm. Great in a small garden, container or grown as a short standard. Healthy and easy to grow. If you want something in the same look that grows a bit bigger, try Summer Dream, a floribunda with all the same attributes except that the plant grows bigger.
Bred by Gareth Fryer in the UK (along with Summer Dream), it has become one of the most popular patio roses grown in the UK.
