November is upon us which means only one thing – plenty of roses starting to bloom all around New Zealand.
It is also the month when the World Federation of Rose Societies Regional Convention is being held in Palmerston North and to celebrate this event, we are featuring the official convention rose this month. This will be on sale for the first time at the International Rose Show at Arena 2, Pascal St, Palmerston North. Click here for details or to pre-order online.
Pacific Glory is a great new floribunda rose with clusters of lavender pink blooms, tinged with fawn making an attractive display in any garden. A healthy growing rose reaching 1.2 metres, it is bound to be widely grown for years to come, making a of what will be a great event for roses in New Zealand. It has already achieved great success, winning the Gold Star of the South Pacific at the New Zealand Rose Society trials and has also had success at the Adelaide rose trials in Australia.
Bred by well-known New Zealand rose breeder Rob Somerfield, who crossed Anniversary x Sky Tower to create this rose. Its name came via a competition, won by long time Whangarei rosarians Derrol & Helen White in 2012.
One well worth growing and certainly a star of the future.
