The 2022 Pacific Rose Bowl Festival will be held from 10th – 13th November
The Pacific Rose Bowl Festival is a wonderful community event that offers a unique opportunity to enjoy New Zealand’s loveliest rose garden at the Hamilton gardens as well as having your say in the New Zealand Rose of the Year.
The Hamilton Gardens recently won the 2014 International Garden of the Year, but the Rogers Rose Garden also boasts its own significant award, being among an impressive list of international gardens that have earned the World Federation of Rose Societies’ Award of Garden Excellence.
While you’re enjoying this internationally recognised garden, take the opportunity to vote for the New Zealand Rose of the Year. All the roses in the trial are clearly marked and all you have to do is select your five favourite roses. Children get in on the act as well with the Interschool Rose Exhibition and all children’s votes go toward the prestigious Children’s Choice Award.
The Hamilton Rose Trial Grounds are linked to Australian, Japanese, and Californian trial grounds through a friendship agreement initiated by Dr Sam McGredy. Roses from all around the world have been entered into our trial grounds, including roses from Holland, France, Germany, Ireland, and, of course, our very own local roses. All are competing for the top honour of receiving the Pacific Rose Bowl Trophy and the title of New Zealand Rose of the Year.
